helping transform lives
Gorbold Behavioral Consulting, Inc.
Suzanne’s professional experiences include the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with a variety of developmental disabilities, as well as infants who are at-risk for developmental delays. She utilizes positive behavioral strategies, such as discrete trial training and play-based therapy, to teach skill acquisition and reduce maladaptive behaviors. She has trained children to use Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems (e.g. Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS), Proloquo2Go for iPad/iPod). Suzanne has taught staff and parents how to utilize behavioral strategies to make lasting changes in the lives of children.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Suzanne, has been working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities since 1998. She received her undergraduate degree in Special Education from Northern Illinois University and has four years experience teaching both learning resource and special day classes. In the classroom, Suzanne worked directly with a behavioral consultant who inspired her to utilize positive behavioral strategies to effect change in her students. Suzanne fell in love with Applied Behavior Analysis through this experience and began behavioral therapy in 2008. She received her master’s degree in Education with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis from National University. Her experience working in various roles in both school-based and home-based programs allows her to have a distinct perspective on the applications of behavior analysis across diverse populations and settings.
